“We moved from California to New York and used NOR-CAL Moving Services to transport our household goods. David Morgan and his crew were highly efficient. Our whole one-bedroom apartment stuff was loaded in the truck in just 2 hours! After that, they took just ten days to cross the country, which was fast considering that they were also doing other clients simultaneously. They have a giant truck, haha! Not only that, but David kept me updated about his location as he traveled. When they reached the final destination, they also unloaded everything quickly and even assembled all furniture back. “The Palo Alto office of SPB (law firm) moved this past weekend. Freddy and the crew were outstanding! This past Friday we moved in the evening and then again on Saturday, but that day rain was expected. They agreed to work a little later on Friday to hopefully get most items to the new location before much rain happened. What a great crew, friendly, very helpful, they went out of their way to help a couple individuals who were taking some of the furniture for use at home. “My movers today were from David Hernandez' crew in San Jose. I had Calvin, Ignacio and unfortunately I did not get the name of the 3rd gentleman. We had a commercial move from a storage facility to the office and then a side trip to pick up a piece of lab equipment in another location, to bring back and to place in the lab. These men did a fantastic job today! I met them at 11:00 am and I don't think they left until 7:45 pm. I was so happy with their professionalism, friendliness and "no problem" to make it easier for me; they definitely went above and beyond my expectations while never making me feel rushed or that they were trying to leave. They accomplished more than I had planned for and am so very grateful. I have used NOR-CAL Moving Services for our companies several times and for one of the owners, we will be loyal customers.”... “NOR-CAL Moving Services works with Allied Moving. I was looking to do a cross country move from the Bay Area to Central Oregon. I called a dozen or more moving companies and they were the only one I could find who would deliver to that area. Chris, my representative, explained that the area is in a bit of a dead zone, so not many places will move to there. This is a full-service moving company (as full service as what you’re willing to pay for, at least)! They were very professional and attentive to my questions and needs. There are a lot of moving scammers out there, so one thing I really appreciated here was the fact that we did a full video walkthrough twice before moving (once before I packed/moved a few items and once after that mini move). The only reason I am not giving them 5 stars is that we had one item missing from the full move. It was nothing essential and I’m not terribly upset by it, but I would recommend if anything is near and dear to you to pack yourself. “We want to let you know the delivery to our home outside Bilbao went very well on Friday. The smaller trucks fit through our gate so as not to block the road outside to neighbors and the team was extremely helpful, patient and professional. On the California end, the entire experience was exceptional for us. With all of the things that could go wrong in a move like this, the two moving days went much more smoothly overall than we could have hoped for. “We had nothing but an excellent experience with NOR-CAL Moving Services for our cross-country move from California to New York. First, their agent, Paul Swain, went far and above the call of duty in helping us with the move, even assisting with our donating some belongings to local charities and taking others unworthy of such treatment to the dump. He was always available to answer questions and came by when the movers were packing and loading to make sure everything went smoothly. He even helped us donate furniture left behind for staging that our realtor ultimately decided not to use, this after we were long gone! The packers exceeded expectations, fewer than a half dozen items suffered any damage (and we had hundreds of very delicate pieces). Dave the driver kept us fully informed of where he was en route, and his loading and unloading crews were fast, careful, and easy to get along with, despite having to work in the rain on one end and the snow in the other. “I've used NOR-CAL Moving Services about six times over the past 20 years for interstate moves. This time was another cross-country move. My original visit was supposed to be in person, but was switched to video. I wasn't thrilled because I had a complicated two stop delivery scenario that was giving me heartburn. Thank you COVID. However, I shouldn't have worried. Video visit went well. Price was competitive. But that isn't nearly as important as THE MOVE. Day 1: packing. I had spent weeks packing my books (I have a lot of books). They packed the rest of the place in 3 hours (4 level townhouse, 3b, 2.5 bath). Apologies that I don't recall the name of the crew. But they were great! Day 2: pick-up. Lucky me, I lived in a place where the truck couldn't do the pick-up. No problem. Our driver (Lucien) showed up with his team. We went over the two drop off issue with him and asked for an estimate of timing. Which drop off were we? When did he think he'd arrive (ballpark was fine). We were the final stop, 4 and 5, with an estimated delivery of April 25. With the weather and everything, I figured delivery would probably be later, maybe April 27 (which was fine). How wrong. Sunday I received a text from Lucien. We'll be there tomorrow morning for delivery. And there he was with his east coast team. A few things were packed wrong in the truck (for the wrong drop off location), but he (and the team) were great about doubling back 5 miles to drop the stuff off at the first location and getting it set-up. Although I hope not to have another big move anytime soon, I can't say enough great things about NOR-CAL Moving Services and Allied. “This is a review for the quote and booking process only, for an interstate move across the country (coast to coast). I worked with Phil B with Nor-Cal as the chosen agent for Allied in the Bay Area. We set up a virtual quote appointment via Zoom and together, we walked through each of the rooms to be moved so Phil could take inventory. His turnaround on the quote was fast, the quote was detailed and broke down the services quoted clearly. He also gave helpful advice on options around storage (local vs. at our destination) and packing (by ourselves or by the company, with tradeoffs around cost and damage risk). We did not go ahead with the move for reasons other than Nor-Cal or Phil. We did interact with many other national and local carriers and found this experience to be the smoothest and clearest. My move coordinator contacted me very quickly to set up scheduling. She was terrific, and very thorough. The crew called me one half hour before arriving. The moving team was respectful of my property, trees, driveway, and even covered the garage surfaces. The team leader introduced himself, as well as his helper. Both were pleasant and let me know they were there to help me in any way they could. The move was done on time and on estimate. All areas were left clean and without any damage. These guys have their act together. The entire process was smooth, efficient, and easy. Phil and his team provided excellent communication throughout the entire process (the truck driver even gave me his cell number for transport updates). The moving crew showed up exactly on time at both the move out and move in locations. They loaded our entire 3 story, 5 bedroom house in less than 2 hours without any damage whatsoever to our house. Only two days later, the truck arrived at our new house, 500 miles away and the crew respectfully unloaded everything, again without any damage to the house. Not one item was damaged in the entire process and everything showed up and was accounted for. This was the best moving experience my family has ever had. The move in on Saturday was absolutely awesome!!!! Rick, Walt Jesus & Brian are the best. Just a small step up from the Pleasanton crew which was equally as good! I am writing to commend your company and Paul Swaim for the excellent service provided to me leading up to and during my move on January 25, 2020. As a preliminary matter, while every move is a disruptive and stressful process during normal times, it was far more so for me this time around. I was forced by unforeseen circumstances to move in a hurry, during a pandemic and was downsizing from 30 years of living in homes with a lot of storage to an apartment with little storage. All of this made my move quite daunting, along with the fact I was doing it alone, unable to call on friends or family due to the pandemic.

Then I called Nor Cal and met my savior, Paul. From my first encounter with him to the last, Paul made the entire process so easy. He was always professional, extremely competent, unendingly pleasant, extraordinarily helpful and said "yes" to every request I made. His survey of my home, inventory of my items, preparation of the estimate and explanation and scheduling of the moving process were efficient and clear. He was always responsive and answered all my questions clearly. My biggest concern was the downsizing aspect of the move. I had a lot of possessions from books to clothing to household items to furniture that I could not take with me. With all the charitable donation centers closed, I was worried about how I would rid myself of all these now-unwanted items. Paul to the rescue. He made it all disappear like magic over several trips to my home. I was also delighted they would be donated to charity, something I could not do myself.

I used Nor Cal for my last move in 2012 and was familiar with your company from the many corporate moves Nor Cal did for the large law firm for which I worked for over 30 thirty years. I was always impressed by and valued the efficiency, professionalism and top-quality service you provide. But even more than that, I have been extremely impressed by your people. Paul carries on that tradition in the best possible way.

As I result, I can honestly say I am one of your biggest fans and promoters. I have told many friends of the extraordinary service you provide and how wonderful Paul has been in every respect. People are dumbfounded and want your name. One friend is planning a cross-country move in a couple of years and is interested in retaining you. I will be extolling your virtues to others as well. I hope you know you could not have a better employee and ambassador for your company than Paul. While I did take up day drinking over the past six weeks, it would have been far worse without Paul. I want to acknowledge the expert service you and SIRVA / NorCal Moving has provided to the Diocese of San Jose the past fifteen years. We first started working together in 2005 when we were moving the retired Bishop Pierre Dumaine.

I have had experience with numerous other movers in the past. With that first excellent service with SIRVA / NorCal Moving, we do not contact other companies to service our corporate or our other 102 locations. We are also appreciative of the reasonable cost for the services provided.

The corporate move in 2011 went expertly; the packing, storage, shipping, and moving into our new Headquarters in San Jose. 4 here was no breakage, no delays, no misplaced items; it all went like clockwork. I have always been impressed with the logistics Of that move. SIRV / NorCal Moving arrived with the right crew and equipment, packaged the numerous files, furniture and contents, and moved those to our new headquarters. This was done without delays, on time, we re-opened on-time without any loss of business days.

The numerous other moves in 2018, 2019, and 2020 for the Diocese and Bishops have been just as successful. The long-term storage of contents, short term storage of contents, the crating — moving — and uncrating of precious artwork without breakage or loss.

The estimator, Phil, was easy to work with and gave me the kind of not-to-exceed contract I wanted. His estimate of the number and types of boxes really helped me plan my own (partial) packing and then at the end, I actually got a refund back because I'd packed some and came in under weight as well. The packers were quick, courteous, and took special care when they needed to. Everything I've unpacked so far (including the whole kitchen and several computer monitors) came through without a scratch or break. The driver was awesome as well and managed to make it to my place several days early. He really took responsibility for the unloading and made sure everything was where it should be. He reassembled everything perfectly too. That included a complex bed, desk, and TV stand. The third party service they used to crate the glass shelves for the TV stand were also very nice but a little harder to coordinate with. Mostly because the driver had set such a high bar. And through it all the move coordinator was only a phone call or email away, keeping me up to date on where things were. I've used professional movers before, and so far, these were the best.... Smooth, professional and efficient US to Canada move three weeks ago - from the Sales Rep (Paul), NorCal Contact (Lucy) to the Receiver (Melissa) in Canada. Moving crew, especially in NorCal were careful and efficient, making sure details needed were all documented to prevent delays in Canada. It took much less time than I was expecting and before long the old office was clean of all items except those we purposely left behind. The crew did an especially good job at breaking down and setting up the cubicles, the front desk and a large conference table. I really appreciated the courtesy they displayed when we had some last minute reorganizing. I also appreciated the fact that they protected the hardwood floors in the old office and did a thorough cleaning at the end, picking up the supplies from the building and parking lot. I was more than pleased with the outstanding level of service provided by our team of movers last weekend when we moved to Walnut Creek. They not only arrived on time, but a few minutes early. They were all very kind and respectful. They worked so quickly I could not believe how fast it went. Even though their pace was fast they paid attention to detail and made sure everything was wrapped correctly and were very careful. It was so nice to work with a group with positive attitudes and a friendly demeanor. The crew was so kind that when they left at the end of the day my two year old asked when her friends would be back because she missed them. In late May of 2013 we moved from the bay area california to denver. After having 4 different movers come to the house and give quotes, my girlfriend and I easily felt the most comfortable with Dwight Dunn of Norcal movers. And he gave us the best price as well! I have a lot of really heavy woodworking tools that needed to be moved and he, unlike the other, didnt even bat an eye at them. He assured me it would be no problem and when the actual movers got to the house (Kevin) they loaded all that heavy equipment with care and with out any problems. Well, four people arrive (both crews had four) and the leader starts the process and throughout the process ALLl were pleasant, courteous, a good sense of humor and thoughtful. The lead (Junior-he said I should call him this, it would be easier) kept telling me, just enought times, that they were there to make this process stress free and they did. I was able to rest, as I can't stand long, by having my bed. While the process took longer than we all expected -they were great and made this truly a very good experience.
